Tour of Historical Queens Park

On Saturday, April 10th 2010, the cadets of 140 Aurora Squadron visited the Ontario Legislature at Queen's Park.

The cadets met with Mr. Frank Klees, MPP for Newmarket-Aurora, who arranged for a tour of the historical Queen's Park building.

Annual Banquet

FSgt Greg McInnis receiving a participation certificate in the Zone Effective Speaking Competition. Presented by Stephen A. Chait, Director, Ontario Provincial Committee, Mayor Frank Scarpitti, The Town of Markham and Councilor Don Hamilton, The Town of Markham. The Effective Speaking Competition was hosted by 351 Silver Star squadron.

VIA Rail kindly donated a round-trip ticket to Quebec City to the 140 Squadron. This ticket was raffled-off during the Squadron Banquet - the Grand Prize Winner was our own CO - Capt R. Schwarz (ticket presented by SSC Chair Laurie Macdonald). Congratulations Capt Schwarz and many thanks to VIA Rail for their kind contribution.

Air Cadet Parades

The aircadets participated in this year's annual Aurora Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday, November 8 and the Newmarket and Aurora Santa Claus parades. Here are some photo's highlighting the event.

Fall Promotions

October's CO Parade introduced many new promotions, from junior to senior positions. Flt Sgt Horton is now Squadron Commander of 140 Squadron. Congratulations to all cadets who were recently promoted.

Fall Activities

The cadets began the new year with a busy schedule, starting with the Terry Fox run and the Aurora Candlelight Vigil in September followed by a weekend of Tag Day fundraising in October.
