140 Squadron produces award winner!
FSgt Marshall was named the top overall power pilot for 2010.
Comrade Marv Schmidt of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) presents the ANAVETS Medal to Carolyn Marshall of 140 "Aurora" Squadron.
This summer our squadron had the privilege of sending 3 cadets to Pilot Training Courses: FSgt Marshall and Sgt Vong went to Power Pilot Scholarship (PPS) and FSgt Rozenfeld went to the Glider Pilot Scholarship (GPS).
Congratulations to these cadets for successfully completing their courses.

Fall Events for 140 Squadron
The squadron has been busy with community events around the Aurora area: the Candlelight Vigil, Terry Fox Run and Magna Hoedown are 3 events that our cadets participate in annually.
October 1-3 was also time for the Annual Fall Tag Days.

140 Squadron cadet receives pilot awards
Congratulations to Warrant Officer 2nd Class Carolyn Marshall for receiving the Air Canada Pilots Association Bursary and the Virginia Mitchell Award for Top National Cadet Pilot (Female). WO2 Marshall was presented with $2000 in bursaries to be used towards continuing her flying experience and plans to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering.
Spring Tagging Days
140 Squadron had a successful fundraising weekend in April raising over $8000 despite the cold rainy weather. Thanks to all the cadets, parents and staff that worked so hard to make this event a success. Here are some behind the scenes photos.

22nd Annual Review Ceremonial Review
The training year ended in May with the squadron's Annual Review. Here are some highlights from the review.
Honoured guests included Fire Chief Ian Laing from Central York Fire Services, Aurora Mayor Geoff Dawe and Newmarket/Aurora MP Lois Brown.
Commanding Officer Captain Ryan Schwarz, Warrant Officer Second Class Greg McInnis and Fire Chief Ian Laing get ready to cut the cake and celebrate another successful air cadet year.
